The Flashing Blade - Video Shop

[1989 - Broadcast 2005]

The Flashing Blade was a dubbed French serial that graced the children's schedules in the late 1970s.

On The Waterfront had a marvellous segment where they showed an edited and redubbed version. The thing was the dialogue had little to do with the actual plot, and subsequently was hilarious.

This sequence illustrates the rather odd fixation the serial had with cotton buds...

Real Video

The Flashing Blade - Waistcoat Salesman

[1989 - Broadcast 2005]

More dubbed lunacy - this time Flash comes face to face with a waistcoat salesman!

This (and the previous clip) came from a programme profiling writer Russell T Davies who just happened to write the 'new' version of Flashing Blade.
